From September 22 to September 25,, 2005 Leslie and I attended the Southeast Regional TESOL Conference in Myrtle Beach, SC . We had a very interesting time and met some of the "greats" of the ESL community. Here are some of the highlights of our trip.

Bill is currently the volunteer office manager with Community Volunteers for International Programs (CVIP) at Michigan State University. He is in the office from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. during the fall and spring semesters. The office is located in the International Center, Room 12C.

You are welcome to stop by to learn more about CVIP's various programs and for an informal chat. We recommend the Friendship Family program. We encourage students to consider being a speaker with CVIP's Speakers Bureau so that American children and other community organizations can learn more about your culture and homeland.

I have helped non-English speakers learn English for more than 25 years. I have tutored others in literacy skills.. I taught "explicit" phonics in China from 2000-2004 visiting the same school five times for a maximum stay of four months.

I volunteer and rectuit other conversation leaders at MSU with Volunteer English Tutoring Program (VETP) founded by Delia Koo on Friday's at 3 o'clock.

I attend the International Coffee Hour in the International Center on Fridays from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Come and meet other internationals. These are held during the fall and spring semesters.

March 19-26, 2007, the Eubanks assisted at the ProLingua exhibit at the 41st Annual TESOL Convention in Seattle, Washington. We joined the MIDTEOL Supper Tour.

March 31, 2007 "Church Based ESL" Cornerstone University 6th Annual ESL Ministry Conference "Many Voices, One Body" Leslie Watson Eubank and MSU student, Rebecca Anders, presented how to develop a Pre-Literacy Program that combines total physical response (TPR) routines to teach instructional / directional words, explicit phonics using phonograph cards, pre-literacy "Look at Me Read" from the Christian Literacy Series and the Window to the World Curriculum (using on the Jesus Film).

October 19-20, 2007, MITESOL at Eastern Michigan University, Ypsilanti, Michigan, Leslie exhibited ProLingua ESL materials.

November 3, 2007, INTESOL Conference was held at the Fountains Conference Center, Carmel, Indiana (Columbus area). ProLingua was there, too!

December 10, 2007, Leslie organized a training session for Trinity Teachers and Community Workers. Sharon Spencer, president/author of Blue Prints for Communication, Inc. presented "Teaching Writing Strategies to Emerging-literate ESL Adult Learners."
